Good News Jail and Prison Ministry

Good News Jail & Prison Ministry is made up of a team of chaplains that have had the privilege of ministering to the staff and inmates of Orange County Corrections since 1970. Over the years, many changes have occurred. In 1984, a specialized program was developed in Orange County by the Chaplains to assist the inmates. This program has since become known as the Life Learning Program. It is designed to work with inmates in an intense environment for a period of two months. Its purpose is to give inmates the opportunity to learn basic life skills from a biblical perspective with the goal of returning them to society and their families as godly individuals who are prepared to be positive and productive citizens in their homes, workplaces and communities. This approach has proven very effective in Orange County, as approximately 85% of those who have completed the program over the years have stayed out of jail. Good News Chaplains have responsibilities for the spiritual welfare of both men and women being housed at Orange County Jail and over the years have seen literally thousands trust Christ and even more complete the Bible lessons designed and offered by Good News. Annie Armstrong (North American Missions) EASTER OFFERING

Each year, we honor the life and advocacy of Annie Armstrong (1850-1938) when we give to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering® for North American missions. As a tireless servant of God and a contagious advocate and supporter of missions efforts throughout the world, Annie Armstrong led women to unite in missions endeavors that ultimately led to the formation of Woman’s Missionary Union, for which she served as the first corresponding secretary. Annie followed Christ with all her heart, and her hands that expressed that belief in tangible ways. She spent a great amount of time typing and handwriting letters in support of missions, filled with conviction that more should be done in our missions efforts. Annie also never hesitated to use her hands to reach out to hug a child or distribute food, clothing and the Word of God to those in need. Annie rallied churches to give more, pray more and do more for reaching people for Christ. We can be confident that her legacy will also be ours.

The Annie Armstrong Easter Offering® (AAEO) changes lives forever by empowering missionaries to bring the gospel to the lost. With over 269 million lost people, North America and its major cities are some of the most spiritually dark places in the world. Join us on the mission to equip every missionary and reach every lost person in the United States and Canada. Every gift matters! 100% of gifts are used efficiently to support and equip missionaries in North America. AAEO gifts are well-stewarded through an accountability process so you can be confident your gift is making a maximum kingdom impact by transorming lives with the Gospel. WE ARE ALL SENT, WE JUST GO IN DIFFERENT WAYS. When you give to AAEO, you are equipping our missionaries, providing shepherds to the lost and reaching the unreached with mercy and Good News. Both one-time and recurring gifts — whether given online, through your church or by mail — are used 100% to support and train missionaries in North America.
